3 die in accidents in state, police say

Three men were killed over the weekend in single-vehicle wrecks in Arkansas, according to Arkansas State Police.

Brian Scott Wehde, 40, of Oklahoma died after he failed to stop at a temporary traffic signal Saturday afternoon, according to a police report.

He lost control and struck a metal traffic sign on his motorcycle on Arkansas 59 in Crawford County, the report said.

Police said the driving conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.

James C. Cooper Jr., 25, of Magnolia died in a crash on Arkansas 371 in Columbia County on Sunday morning, police said.

Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene after his Chevrolet Tahoe struck a tree, according to a police report.

Tyler D. Smith, 23, of Crossett was killed when his car struck a culvert and overturned several times on Sunday afternoon in Ashley County.

Smith's vehicle left the road, and he was ejected from the car as it rolled, police said.

It was clear and dry at the time of the wreck, according to a police report.
