Crime scene sought after shooting in Little Rock

Little Rock police on Sunday found a shooting victim but no crime scene, a department spokesman said.

Officers responding to a shooting call found a man, suffering from a gunshot wound, in his vehicle at the 4800 block of Asher Avenue about 3:15 a.m., Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Steve McClanahan said.

The man, who was shot in his torso, was taken to a hospital in critical condition but was expected to live, McClanahan said.

Detectives didn't have a crime scene to investigate because it wasn't clear where the man was shot, McClanahan said. It appeared he struck another vehicle with his car after being shot near the location where police eventually found him.

McClanahan said police knew very little about the shooting but hoped the victim would be able to tell them more after he was stabilized.
