Little Rock firefighter arrested on DWI charge

A Little Rock firefighter was arrested Sunday on a DWI charge, according to a police report.

In the report, police said they found Michael Witherspoon, 27, asleep in his Toyota Tundra outside a gas station at 7515 Baseline Road in Little Rock.

He was arrested and taken to the Pulaski County jail, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test, according to the report.

Jail personnel said he was released at 6:34 a.m. Sunday. He is scheduled to appear in court June 7.

Witherspoon is an active, full-time employee with the Little Rock Fire Department, a spokesman said Monday.
