Many state parks are filling Memorial Day weekend with special activities, according to Thursday Style’s Weekend Ten. For example, swimming, pedal boats and a party on the beach make for Memorial Day Madness at Crowley’s Ridge State Park. The holiday weekend celebration will be on Lake Ponder Beach, 1-5 p.m. Saturday-Monday. There will be a DJ on Saturday.
Historic Washington State Park offers Silent City Speaks Cemetery Living History Tour, 5-6 p.m. Saturday and Monday.
And Queen Wilhelmina State Park near Mena will have special hikes, interpretive nature programs, a Dutch oven demonstration and special tours and crafts, like a chance to build a kite Friday-Sunday.
