A committee of the University of Arkansas System board has accepted tuition and fee recommendations regarding each of its campuses for the 2016-17 academic year.

At the system's flagship campus, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, tuition and fees would increase 3.5 percent — from $8,521 to $8,819.40 for an in-state undergraduate student taking 30 credit hours over two semesters.

Of the proposals, a suggested 11.8 percent increase in tuition and fees at the University of Arkansas at Monticello represents the highest percentage increase among the system's universities, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.

Undergraduate in-state student tuition and fees would increase at UAM from $6,447 to $7,210 in the 2016-17 academic year.

All of the system's four-year universities are seeking tuition increases. All of its five community colleges, except the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville, are also asking for a bump up in tuition.

The Batesville college, however, is seeking to increase two fees.

The recommendations will go to the full board in the form of a report Thursday. The full board can accept or reject the report.
