Cow-punk Texas band to stop at White Water

The Hickoids will perform, along with opening act Frontier Circus, at 9 p.m. today at White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $7.

The Hickoids, a long-running Austin/San Antonio cow-punk band, marked their 30th anniversary in 2014 and were inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame in 2015. The band had re-formed in 2008 and has since released two CDs and played more than 250 shows in 11 states and nine western European countries.

Big Piph & Tomorrow Maybe will perform at 9 p.m. Friday. Admission is $10.

Dom Flemons, a founding member of The Carolina Chocolate Drops, will perform at 8 p.m. today at South on Main. Tickets are $22, $17 and $14.

The North Carolina native, who embarked on a solo career in November 2013, plays four-string banjo, guitar, jug, harmonica, kazoo, snare drum, bones and quills.

Admission is general seating and is $12 to the matinee, which includes all-day admission to the Craft Village. Admission to the evening performance is also $12 and features local opening acts Possum Juice and Mary Parker. A combination ticket for both performances and all-day access to the Craft Village is $19.50.

Turnpike Troubadours is an Oklahoma "red dirt" band that has released four albums since 2007, the latest of which, a self-titled disc, came out Sept. 18. Canada is the former leader of the band Cross Canadian Ragweed.
