Peachy project
The Studio Theatre, 320 W. Seventh St., Little Rock, will hold auditions, by appointment, for the musical James and the Giant Peach (music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, book by Timothy Allen McDonald, based on the children's classic by by Roald Dahl), June 4-5 at the theater, with callbacks, if necessary June 6. Director Mark A. Burbank is seeking a diverse, multi-generational cast of 10-15.
Auditioners should prepare a 32-bar musical selection from or in the style of the show, and may be asked to attend a dance callback and/or read from the script. Provide sheet music for the accompanist (no recorded audio tracks or a cappella auditions, please) and a head shot and resume (not required, but strongly encouraged). Production dates are Aug. 11-21; rehearsals begin July 5.
