Officers arrested a man Wednesday in connection with robberies at two Little Rock businesses last week, according to an arrest report.

Little Rock police arrested Jesse Jackson Jr., 35, Wednesday in the holdups of a Family Dollar and a Dollar General in Little Rock on May 16. Police charged Jackson with six counts of aggravated robbery and six counts of theft of property, according to a police report.

Officers were called to a Family Dollar at at 4514 W. 12th St. in Little Rock on May 16 after a masked man walked in, pointed a silver handgun at the cashier and demanded money, according to a police report. The cashier said the robber struck him in the head multiple times and then fired one shot before fleeing the scene.

About 30 minutes later, officers were called to a Dollar General store at 3214 W. Roosevelt Road in Little Rock. According to surveillance footage released by the Police Department, a man walked in, pointed a silver handgun at an employee and took cash from the safe. Before fleeing the scene, police said the man fired one shot into the floor. Fragments from the bullet reportedly left two employees with minor injuries.
