An Arkansas man has surrendered on a charge of first-degree murder and another is sought in a December home invasion that left a woman dead in Jonesboro, according to police.

Jonesboro Police Department spokesman Paul Holmes said in a statement that Benjamin Dewayne Scott, 22, of Jonesboro also faces a charge of aggravated residential burglary in the slaying of Kayla K. Vinson, 24, on Dec. 17.

Scott remained at the Craighead County jail as of Thursday afternoon pending a probable cause hearing Friday, according to police.

Donald J. Versey, 28, was also injured during the shooting and was treated at a local hospital, authorities said.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported that two armed men entered the home at 401 Second St. in north Jonesboro and demanded money.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mario Jashon Stafford, 19, of Jonesboro, who is considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
