Police arrested a man in a robbery of a U.S. Bank branch Wednesday morning in North Little Rock.

Officers responded about 10:20 a.m. to the bank at 4311 E. Broadway, a commercial area in the southeast part of the city. A man had entered the bank and given an employee a note demanding cash, according to police spokesman Sgt. Brian Dedrick. The robber also implied he had a weapon. He took an undisclosed amount of money and fled.

No injuries were reported.

Dedrick said it wasn't clear if the robber was, in fact, armed.

"Whenever he was demanding the money, he put his hand on his side indicating he had a firearm," Dedrick said. "They didn't see anything, though."

Dedrick said police connected Henry Wayne Brooks, 55, to the holdup and searched Brooks' home at 2523 Lincoln Ave. in North Little Rock later Monday. Officers found cash, and clothing that matched what the bank robber wore, Dedrick said.

He also said investigators found a notepad.

"On the paper, we were able to see an impression that read, 'Just give me the money please an no one get hurt,'" Dedrick said in a news release.

Brooks was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property. He admitted to writing the note, robbing the bank and hiding the money in his bed, according to police.

Brooks was being held in the Pulaski County jail late Wednesday.
