Edwards will transfer to ASU

Former Arkansas receiver Kendrick Edwards has found a new home.

Edwards, who was dismissed by Razorbacks Coach Bret Bielema in October, tweeted Wednesday night that he will transfer to Arkansas State after two seasons in Fayetteville.

Edwards, rated a two-star recruit by Rivals.com out of Miami in 2014, caught 4 passes for 70 yards and 1 touchdown as a freshman for the Razorbacks. He intended to redshirt last season, but injuries to other receivers forced him to play. He caught 4 passes for 51 yards in 5 games. He started in a loss to Texas A&M and in a victory at Tennessee.

An ASU official said the school could not comment, likely meaning it has not yet received signed grant-in-aid papers.

Edwards, 6-5, 212 pounds, will have to sit out this season per NCAA transfer rules. He’ll have two seasons of eligibility.
