42-year-old man arrested after North Little Rock bank robbed

2:26 P.M. UPDATE:

Police have arrested a man in Friday morning's robbery of branch of Bank of America in North Little Rock.

According to a news release, Jevon Cowans, 42, was taken into custody Friday afternoon at 813 I St.

Police were called to the area about 1 p.m. after a witness reported that the robbery suspect was hiding underneath a house on North I Street.

Cowans faces charges of aggravated robbery, theft of property and criminal trespassing, police said.

North Little Rock police are looking for a man who robbed a bank Friday morning.

Officers responded shortly after 9:30 a.m. to the Bank of America at 4103 E. Broadway and were told that a heavyset black male with dreadlocks demanded money while wielding a gun and threatening the teller, according to a North Little Rock Police Department news release. Police say the man walked away from the bank with an undisclosed sum.

Anyone with any information regarding the crime is encouraged to call North Little Rock police at (501) 758-1234.

Police say the man should be considered armed and dangerous.

The holdup is the second bank robbery in the same area this week. The U.S. Bank branch at 4311 E. Broadway was robbed Wednesday by a man who demanded cash while indicating that he had a weapon. Police arrested Henry Wayne Brooks, 55, in that case.
