Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Services benefits from an After Hours reception from 5 to 7 p.m. June 6 at the Inn at Carnall Hall on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville. Based in Monticello for more than 100 years, the home serves foster children, ages 6 to 21, from all over the state — including Northwest Arkansas. Tickets are $25 and available at First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville.

Farmington United Methodist Church, 355 Southwinds Road, sponsors an “Odds ‘n Ends” and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 4. Money raised will support United Methodist Women ministries.

University of Arkansas offers a new course, “Introduction to Yiddish Literature and Culture, Tuesday to July 1. Instructor Jacob Adler, rabbi of Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville, described the class as “essentially, the world of Fiddler on the Roof.”

The class meets from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Credit hours are given for world literature and humanities.

Wyatt is senior associate pastor of Countryside Bible Church in Southlake, Texas, and serves on the board of XL Ministries, which promotes internship programs in local churches to train men to become pastors.
