Stock index up 2.80; all 18 gain in week

The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, rose 2.80 to 322.92 Friday.

For the week, all 18 stocks advanced.

P.A.M. Transportation had the best weekly performance, rising 11.6 percent.

Tyson Foods rose 0.6 percent, the weakest performance for the week.

Total volume for the index was 16.7 million shares.

The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
