Friends and family of Nancy Lynn Steenburgen and George Peter Word gathered at South on Main on May 21 to celebrate the couple's nuptials.

For the reception, tables were centered with arrangements of hydrangeas. Hand-painted plaques, made by the bride's daughter, Amy Bell, announced the evening's cocktail options for the event: Spa City Matrimony, The Last Word and Nancy Lynn's Sweet Potato Lemonade. Music for the reception was by Bijoux.

The couple were married earlier in the day at Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs with the Rev. Miles Cook officiating.

The chapel was decorated with lavender, gray and silver flower arrangements. Nuptial music was by pianists John Willis and vocalist Audrey Kelley, daughter of the bride.

Given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Ted Danson, the bride wore a cafe and ivory charmeuse gown with an overlay of English net embellished in delicate silver embroidery and hand-beaded with pearls, crystals and bugle beads. The deep decolletage neckline was encircled with beading and embroidery that extended over the shoulders to a keyhole back. The slim skirt extended to a chapel train. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of roses, blue thistle, white ranunculus, fresh lavender and dusty miller.

The couple's children and their spouses served as attendants at the ceremony.

Bridesmaids were Amy Kelly Bell of North Little Rock; Audrey Kelley of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Rebecca Burkman of Greenville, N.C.; and Elizabeth Word of Springdale. They wore gray silk-chiffon gowns with illusion necklines and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas, blue thistle, roses and dusty miller.

Flower girls were Clementine Walton and Goldie Walton of Ojai, Calif., and Evan Gregory and Lily Gregory of Little Rock. Ring Bearer was Caleb Cook of Mayflower.

Groomsmen were Michael Fowler of New York, Blake Burkman of Greenville and Matthew Bell and James Word, both of North Little Rock.

The bride serves as an Arkansas A+ Fellow and is a private tutor for children with dyslexia. The bridegroom is a supervisory special agent in the Diplomatic Security Service for the U.S. Department of State.

After a wedding trip to Dauphin Island, Ala., the couple will make their home in North Little Rock.
