Pills, scale found, driver, 19, arrested

A Pulaski County sheriff’s deputy arrested a 19-year-old man Friday night on U.S. 165 after finding pills in his pocket and a digital scale in his vehicle, according to an arrest report.

Jalon Shields of Scott was pulled over for not using a turn signal and passing on a double yellow centerline, according to the report. The deputy then found four baggies that contained 6 grams of Xanax pills and 3 grams of hydrocodone pills in his pants pocket and a digital scale in his vehicle, according to the report.

Shields was charged with one count of possession of a schedule II drug with purpose to deliver, possession of a schedule IV drug with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and other counts related to his driving.

Shields was not listed on the Pulaski County jail inmate roster Saturday night.
