Arkansas State University System officials propose tuition, fee increases

The Arkansas State University System Board of Trustees on Wednesday is set to vote on tuition and fee increases at its campuses for the 2016-17 school year.

At the system’s flagship campus in Jonesboro, officials are proposing a 1.9 percent increase in tuition and fees, according to a board agenda.

For in-state undergraduate students, tuition would increase from $200 to $202 per semester credit hour, while out-of-state undergraduate students would see tuition rise from $400 to $404 per semester credit hour.

The budget proposal for the Jonesboro campus also includes a deferred maintenance fee of $3.

Tuition and fee increases are also being proposed at the system's campuses in Beebe, Searcy, West Memphis, Mountain Home and Newport and at the Little Rock Air Force Base. No tuition increase is suggested for ASU Mid-South in West Memphis.

If approved, the changes in tuition and fees across the system would be effective July 1, according to the agenda.
