Until Gordy was nearly 15, Evan and Dara Baylinson had no idea their autistic son could comprehend anything they said. Then Gordy, who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder when he was 17 months old, wrote a letter.
Using the Rapid Prompting Method, the now 16-year-old Gordy wrote a nearly 400-word note to a police officer, opening up a mind that is a treasure trove of knowledge and opinions about the world that he has picked up from listening.
