North Little Rock School Board member Ron Treat has died, Superintendent Kelly Rodgers confirmed Monday.

Rodgers said Treat's neighbor found him dead in his home in North Little Rock on Monday morning.

Rodgers didn't know the cause of death. Treat, 67, who represents Zone 4 on the School Board, is a manager at Summerwood Partners.

Scott Miller, a former School Board member, posted on Facebook about Treat's death Monday and said Treat died Sunday night.

"Ron's steady hand and love for our community and kids was obvious to all who knew him," Miller wrote. "Our school community has suffered a [great] loss today."

Treat's term on the School Board was set to expire this year.
