North Little Rock teen arrested in drive-by gunfire

North Little Rock police on Monday arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a Memorial Day drive-by shooting, according to an arrest report.

Officers responded to a shooting at the 300 block of East 56th Street at about noon Monday, the report said.

Witnesses said the driver fired shots from a white Nissan Sentra, and they provided a license plate number, the report said.

An officer later stopped a car in the area matching the description. The driver, Trevon Aguil Alexander, 18, of Jacksonville told police that he had been in the car all day, the report stated.

He was arrested after police searched the rear floorboard and found a handgun that had been reported as stolen, the report said.

Alexander was charged with committing a terroristic act and theft by receiving.

His bail was set at $30,000, and he wasn't listed on the Pulaski County jail's roster on Monday afternoon.
