PAPER TRAILS: Musician who went missing in Little Rock still absent; 'The Bachelor' in Arkansas

MISSING: Little Rock native Joe Cripps, a drummer who earlier performed with the Little Rock-based Gunbunnies and the Grammy-winning band Brave New Combo of Denton, Texas, hasn't been seen in more than two weeks, reported The Associated Press recently. Little Rock police asked Tuesday for the public's help in finding Cripps, who moved back to Little Rock last year but regularly returns to north Texas. Word of Cripps' disappearance first spread via his friends on Facebook, where the drummer was active online and his latest posts appear to have been made Oct. 18 or 19. He was last seen Oct. 19 leaving White Water Tavern in Little Rock's Stifft Station neighborhood, where he asked someone in the bar to call a cab for him. Cripps' brother James said the missing musician was scheduled to perform Oct. 21 but missed the gig, which, he added, wasn't like Cripps. He added that he doesn't believe Cripps left town in a vehicle; his is not running and is in the shop.

LOCAL NOTE: This week will mark a homecoming for a member of the increasingly popular 11th Hour, a Nashville, Tenn.-based Southern gospel trio. Camden native Jaquita Lindsey previously lived in Benton, worked in Little Rock and served as a worship leader at a North Little Rock church. The group is set to perform at DaySpring Missionary Baptist Church in Ward at 7 p.m. this Friday (which happens to be the 11th day of the 11th month). The concert is free but a love offering will be accepted. For more info, call (501) 628-1838 or (501) 843-3336.

ARKANSANS HONORED: Two musicians with Arkansas connections and their two band mates were honored at the 50th annual Country Music Association award ceremonies Tuesday. Jacksonville native Jimi Westbrook and Pocahontas native Phillip Sweet of Little Big Town received the Vocal Group of the Year award. In 2014, the group won the same award for the third year in a row.

(SPOILER ALERT -- Fans of the reality TV show The Bachelor who don't want to know what's in store for next season should stop reading now).

THE BACHELOR NEXT DOOR: Nick Viall, starring in ABC's reality show The Bachelor next season, was in Hoxie near Walnut Ridge last week filming. This isn't his first reality rodeo; he's a seasoned pro. Twice before, as a contestant on two different seasons of The Bachelorette, he was a runner-up, and this summer, he appeared on Bachelor in Paradise. Word is Viall was in Hoxie meeting the family of Raven Gates, who is 25 and the owner of Grey Suede clothing in Jonesboro, according to Reality Steve, a blogger who's rarely wrong. The fact that Viall has met her family means she's a finalist. A Jonesboro tipster tells Paper Trails that the show's crew has been filming at Stan Jones Mallard Lodge in nearby Alicia. Look for the new season to begin Jan. 2, Viall tells fans via Instagram.
