If Thursday's season-opener is any indication, Little Rock Central's opponents are in for some uncomfortable confrontations this season.

Senior forward Bre'Amber Scott scored all 18 of her points in the first half and the aggressive Lady Tigers forced 27 turnovers in rolling to a 73-14 victory over Joe T. Robinson in the opening day of the Ladies HardWood Jam Showcase at Hall's Cirks Arena.

Central (1-0) scored the game's first 22 points, knocked down 6 three-pointers, came up with 14 steals and outrebounded the Lady Senators 33-16. The Lady Tigers limited Robinson to 4-of-25 shooting from the floor, and the Lady Senators were guilty of 7 turnovers in the game's first two minutes.

Five Lady Tigers scored nine or more points as they built a 50-5 halftime advantage.

"You can't complain about much in a win like this," Central Coach Michael Green said. "I told the kids that they have to keep playing hard. It's not about the other team. It's about us getting better as a team. You work on fundamentals, execute the offense and don't foul as much."

Central should have a much stiffer test tonight against Little Rock Parkview, which doled out an equally impressive 58-14 beatdown of Marianna earlier Thursday.

"Parkview is a good team, and plus they're a rival," Green said. "There shouldn't have to be much motivation to get ready for that one."

Senior Jada Perry added 15 points and handed out three assists. Senior Abigayle Jackson scored 12 of her 14 points in the second half and grabbed five rebounds. Sophomore Jordan Greenwood added 13 points and came up with three steals. Junior Erynn Barnum scored 9 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 3 steals.

Central was 29 of 49 from the floor.

Robinson senior Asia Anderson led her team with four points while freshman Mckenzie Fredrick came up with five steals.

PARKVIEW 58, MARIANNA 14

Senior post player Sydni Williams scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Lady Patriots (1-0) raced out to an 18-0 advantage in a victory over the Lady Trojans (0-1).

Marianna did not score until the 9:38 mark of the first half when junior Riekaysha Cheers hit a free throw.

Parkview sophomore Kaylan Larry did all of her damage in the first half, scoring 9 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 3 assists. Three other Lady Patriots -- junior Kania Lasker, junior Johnaya Givens and senior Vivian Floyd -- all scored eight points.

Tionna Martin led Marianna with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals.

Parkview led at the half 44-7.

HALL 62, McCLELLAN 27

Sophomore Alaysia Kelly scored 20 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as the Lady Warriors (1-0) bounced the Lady Lions (0-1) in the evening's first game.

The game was tied at 14 midway through the first half before Hall finished by scoring 17 of the final 20 points.

Senior Alexis Burns added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Hall. Dasha Brown scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for McClellan, which was guilty of 27 turnovers. McClellan's Britney Patterson led the Lady Lions in rebounds with 10. She also made four steals.

Hall junior Erin Carbin compiled 9 rebounds, and sophomore Allexias Adams led the Lady Warriors with 7 assists and 4 steals.
