THE SKINNY: Pepperoni is best known as a pizza topping.
But perhaps it can get a reputation as a snack. Hormel, which has introduced individually packaged Pepperoni Snack Bites (in Original and Turkey varieties), hopes so. Each pouch contains bite-size bits of pepperoni.
The Turkey version, which is a bit more stubborn in texture but no less spicy or meaty, contains less calories; it also contains less pepperoni (1 ounce, as opposed to 1.25 ounces in Original packets.)
