CALLING ALL SANTAS

Shoppers off to early start at Holiday House preview

About 800 people, ready to get their holiday shopping started, attended the Junior League of Little Rock Holiday House Preview Party, 'Twas the Night Before, on Nov. 9 at the Statehouse Convention Center.

Not only was the four-day shopping event a chance to beat the crowds, guests enjoyed buffets of hors d'oeuvres, libations and music. Sponsors and those with VIP tickets also had access to a buffet, bar and special seating at tables decorated with cheery floral centerpieces.

More than 170 merchants were selling art, toys, clothes, decorative items and, of course, Christmas decorations.

Holiday House is the Junior League's biggest annual fundraiser and encompasses several special parties, such as a Ladies Night and Cookies and Milk With Santa. Proceeds help fund the league's community projects including Stuff the Bus, which provides elementary school students with new school supplies; Boosters & Big Rigs, a free community event that provides children with wellness screenings; and Kota Camp, a service project with Camp Aldersgate.

Becca Effrein served as chairman of Holiday House, and Arkansas Children's Hospital was the presenting sponsor.
