GPS: 34.731556, -92.353961

Length: The paved loop is about 1.5 miles. Dirt bike trails meander for miles more.

Main attractions: The park’s 250 acres are a walker’s delight with Civilian Conservation Corps pavilions, an impressive creek, towering trees and wildlife.

Hazards: Rock Creek turns deadly (seriously) after heavy rains. Do not drive across the flooded low-water bridge even if the gates aren’t closed. Also, the path travels through heavily wooded isolated areas — keep alert.

Dog, bike, tyke friendly? Yes to all three.

Rating (out of five): ****
