Police beat: Man faces charges in North Little Rock disturbance

A 50-year-old man was arrested Friday after North Little Rock police found him inside an apartment with his arm around a victim, according to a police report.

Police responded to 2500 Willow St. after hearing of a disturbance Friday, according to the report. An officer heard the victim say "Get off me" from inside the apartment, according to the report.

The officer walked into the apartment and saw the man "laying on the bed behind the victim with his left arm around the victim," according to the report.

The man initially refused to remove his hands from the victim but then did so after police said a stun gun would be deployed if he did not comply, according to the report.

Dewayne Manning of Little Rock was placed into custody, but afterward began to yell at officers and started walking away from police, according to the report. Manning yanked away when officers grabbed him and did not comply with police commands once he was on the ground, police said.

Police then sprayed Manning with pepper spray, according to the report.

Manning was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest, according to the report.

He was listed on the Pulaski County jail roster Sunday evening.
