A woman was injured in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night while riding in a car on Interstate 630 in Little Rock, police said.

Jessie Williams, 68, of Little Rock, told authorities that a black or dark blue vehicle pulled up next to his 2014 Nissan Altima about 9:38 p.m. as he drove west on the interstate in the left lane underneath overpasses near Pine and Cedar streets.

The driver of the other vehicle then began shooting out of a window and struck 52-year-old Anntionette Lee of Little Rock, a passenger in Williams' car, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Williams told police that he first stopped in the middle of traffic and then pulled over to the shoulder and took the Fair Park Boulevard exit.

Williams took Lee to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock for gunshot wounds in her right forearm and upper chest, the report noted. Her injuries were described as not life-threatening.

A physical description of the shooter and more information regarding the gunman's vehicle were not immediately available.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Woman: Innocent in friend's shooting

A Little Rock woman pleaded innocent in District Court on Wednesday to a charge of first-degree battery.

She is accused of shooting a friend early Tuesday morning, a police report says.

Police responded to Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock around 1 a.m. and found 27-year-old Mario Burnett of Bryant suffering from two gunshot wounds, Arkansas Online previously reported.

Burnett told officers that he got into an argument with his friend, 27-year-old Kirkteashe Jordan of Little Rock, at her residence on Bay Street.

Burnett said he left the house, got into his car and started driving, and Jordan followed him in her vehicle, according to a police report. Jordan then pulled out a handgun, shot through the glass of the back window of his car and struck him twice, the report said.

Burnett had a gunshot wound on his right shoulder blade and on the side of his head, and there was a bullet hole in his vehicle's rear window, police noted.

Officers took Jordan into custody for further questioning and later arrested her on a charge of first-degree battery, the report said.

Jordan appeared in Little Rock District Court on Wednesday and entered an innocent plea. Her bail was set at $30,000, a clerk said. She was released from the Pulaski County jail Wednesday morning, records show.
