Where I live: In Live Oaks in Ferndale with my husband, Eric; our two daughters, Adelyn, 11, and Haven, 9; our two dogs and one cat.

Occupation: Dentist and owner of Eiler Family Dentistry

My favorite space is: My music room. It used to be a dining room that we didn’t use and we turned it into a place where we all just hang out, play the piano and sing and play other instruments. It’s just a really fun place to be. Since we’ve had the music room, we’ve started having tea in there almost every night. We do a lot of talking and we break out the instruments pretty often. I’ll play the piano or ukulele, and everyone else will play instruments we’ve picked up when we travel. We have bongos, a rainstick, a mini xylophone, a pan flute and a percussion frog. We also sing. We don’t always make beautiful sounds, but we have fun.

If I could change one thing to improve this space, I would:

Goodness, that’s hard. Right now, I think I would get a bigger rug in there. The one we have is not big enough and it bugs me. We also need more seating to accommodate more people. We usually just sit around on the floor.
