Percussion ensemble

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Percussion Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. today in the University Theatre, UALR Center for Performing Arts, 2801 S. University Ave., Little Rock. The program will include Trio for Percussion by Warren Benson, Drummers Canzonetta by R.W. Buggert, Animations by David Steinquest and Beat Ballet by Richard K. LeVan. 'Band Extravaganza!'

Two perfume clerks (Laura Benanti, Zachary Levi) who spar on the job turn out to be the anonymous romantic pen pals they've been falling for in the Tony Award-winning stage show She Loves Me. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra is taking its "Home for the Holidays" pops concert on the road this weekend, 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Fine Arts Center, East Arkansas Community College, 1700 Newcastle Road, Forrest City, part of the college's Fine Arts Center's Spotlight Series. Co-concertmaster Kiril Laskarov will be the soloist in the first movement of Antonio Vivaldi's "Winter" Concerto from The Four Seasons; singer Jennifer Bell will sing "O Holy Night." The program will also include Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride" and "Christmas Festival," Irving Berlin's "White Christmas," the "Dance of the Tumblers" from The Snow Maiden by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov and a Christmas sing along.
