HOWLING AT THE WOLFE

Successful day ends with victories all around

The day started early and ended late on Sept. 30 for many supporters of the Wolfe Street Foundation. Teams competed in the 21st Annual Golf Classic earlier that morning at Maumelle Country Club for cash and prizes, followed by a barbecue lunch provided by the Cross-Eyed Pig. Later that evening, guests gathered on the grounds of the Wolfe Street Center for a tailgate party dubbed Howling at the Wolfe.

Guests sat at outdoor tables decorated with pumpkins and candles as they enjoyed a dinner provided by The Southern Gourmasian food truck. Katmandu, a six-piece central Arkansas band, entertained throughout the evening.

The evening was co-chaired by Vanessa Thomas Russell and Tim Laughlin. Proceeds, over $36,000, will go toward operating costs of the center, said Caroline Ford, executive director of the foundation. The building is open 16 hours a day, 365 days a year for use by groups dedicated to recovery from alcoholism and addiction.
