FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas junior safety De'Andre Coley was ejected for targeting for the second time this season when he drew a penalty flag with 14:10 left in the third quarter of Saturday night's game against Ole Miss.

After Arkansas cornerback Henre Toliver intercepted a Chad Kelly pass intended for Van Jefferson, Coley made contact with Jefferson and was penalized.

On replays, it appeared Coley hit Jefferson with his shoulder and didn't launch himself at Jefferson or target his head, but the call was upheld after replay.

The ejection in the second half means Coley -- who has started the past three games -- must miss the first half of Arkansas' game at Auburn next week.

Sophomore Santos Ramirez, who started the first four games before suffering a leg injury and sitting out against Alcorn State, replaced Coley.

Coley's first ejection for targeting this season was against Texas A&M when he hit wide receiver Speedy Noil after an incomplete pass.

Reed reappears

Arkansas senior wide receiver Dominique Reed, who had a quiet first half of the season, made some noise early against Ole Miss when he caught a 51-yard touchdown pass from Austin Allen to put the Razorbacks ahead 7-0 in the first quarter.

It was Reed's first touchdown this season after he scored six touchdowns last season.

Reed had five receptions of 52 or more yards last season. Reed's longest play this season prior to the Ole Miss game was a 32-yard reception against Texas State.

No scoring first for Rebels

Arkansas forced an Ole Miss punt on the Rebels' first possession, which featured three incompletions by quarterback Chad Kelly, including a drop by tight end Evan Engram on the first play.

It was the first time this season Ole Miss failed to score on its first possession.

The Rebels scored touchdowns on their opening possessions against Florida State, Alabama and Memphis and field goals against Wofford and Georgia.

Not automatic

Ole Miss junior kicker Gary Wunderlich missed the first extra-point attempt of his career when the ball hit the left upright and bounced away.

Wunderlich had been 108 of 108 on extra-point attempts prior to his miss in the first quarter after the Rebels had cut Arkansas' lead to 7-6.

Nice pickup

Blocking often is tough for college freshman tailbacks because they're so used to having the ball in their hands as high school stars. But Arkansas freshman Devwah Whaley showed how far he's come as a blocker on Austin Allen's 13-yard touchdown pass to Drew Morgan in the first quarter.

Whaley made a quick move to block Ole Miss defensive end Victor Evans and make sure Allen stayed untouched and had the time to hit Morgan.

Upon further review

Ole Miss senior Carlos Davis' kickoff return after Arkansas had taken a 7-0 lead initially was ruled a 100-yard touchdown, but the score was overturned by the replay booth.

The replay showed Davis stepped out of bounds at the Ole Miss 39. The Rebels then drove 61 yards in nine plays for a touchdown.

Multiple TD passes

With two touchdown passes in the first half, Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen extended his streak of games with at least two touchdown passes to seven this season.

Homecoming royalty

Shelby Cormack from Van Buren and Moses Agare from Isumu, Kenya, were announced as Arkansas' homecoming queen and king during a halftime ceremony.

For starters

Arkansas junior linebacker Dwayne Eugene made his first start of the season and second of his career. He took the place of sophomore Dre Greenlaw, who is expected to miss four to six weeks after breaking his right foot against Alabama last week.

Freshman fullback Hayden Johnson made his fifth start for the Razorbacks. He played off the bench last week after being arrested for public intoxication.

Flag bearers

Arkansas senior wide receiver Cody Hollister carried the United States flag and sophomore offensive lineman Jake Hall carried the Arkansas flag when the Razorbacks ran onto the field.

Captain Wright

Former Arkansas receiver Jarius Wright, who now plays for the Minnesota Vikings, was recognized on the field before the game as the Razorbacks' honorary team captain.

Wright, a Warren native, played at Arkansas from 2008-2011 and had 66 catches for 1,117 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In 57 career games with the Vikings, Wright has 128 receptions for 1,806 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Minnesota, the NFL's only remaining unbeaten team at 5-0, has a bye this weekend.

Can't agree

Arkansas claimed a 34-27-1 series lead over Ole Miss going into Saturday night's game. The Rebels had it 33-28-1 in the Razorbacks' favor.

Arkansas claims a forfeit victory in 1914 -- when Ole Miss won on the field 13-7 in Little Rock -- because the Rebels used an ineligible player. Ole Miss denies it used an ineligible player and lists the game as a victory.

Kicking pals

Arkansas senior punter Toby Baker and Ole Miss junior kicker Gary Wunderlich were teammates at Memphis University High School.

Bowled over

Ole Miss is playing 10 teams that were in bowl games last season, including Arkansas, to tie for second most in the nation with BYU, Colorado and Ohio State.

The only teams on the Rebels' schedule that didn't go bowling last season are Wofford and Vanderbilt.

USC is playing the most bowl teams from last season with 11.

Arkansas is playing nine teams that were in bowls last season.
