The Arkansas State Police reported Saturday that two people died Friday in separate crashes.
Cedric Marable, 41, of Fort Smith was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Spradling Avenue in Fort Smith when he lost control of the vehicle about 7:20 p.m. near North 46th Street. The motorcycle struck a tree.
Marable was taken to Sparks Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, police reported.
State police reported that conditions were clear and dry when the crash occurred.
A crash in Lee County killed a California woman, according to state police.
Rene Joseph Vandevelde, 81, of San Diego was driving a 2005 Nissan Maxima south on Arkansas 1 north of Haynes when the car ran off the road and overturned about 9:30 a.m.
Conditions were rainy and wet at the time of the crash.
