JAMES GILBERT, Ball State, 34-264 vs. Buffalo.

GOOD COMPANY

Louisiana Tech’s Carlos Henderson set single-game national highs for all-purpose and receiving yards in a victory at Massachusetts. Henderson caught 12 balls for 326 yards and 5 touchdowns, and he returned 2 kickoffs for 36 yards. Henderson caught 6 passes for 71 yards and returned 3 kickoffs for 84 yards in the Bulldogs’ season-opening 21-20 loss to Arkansas. Henderson, who recorded 232 receiving yards against Western Kentucky on Oct. 8, is the third player in 10 years with 200 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns in backto-back games, joining Davante Adams (Fresno State) and Michael Crabtree (Texas Tech). Adams (Green Bay) and Crabtree (Oakland) are having notable NFL careers.

FLIPPING THE FIELD

Bowling Green’s Joe Davidson and Kansas’ Cole Moos each recorded 82-yard punts Saturday, the longest by college kickers in three years. Davidson, who had a 79-yarder a week earlier, went 82 yards vs.Toledo. Moos’ big kick came against Baylor and was the longest by a Kansas punter since 2002. Davidson and Moos still fell short Zac Murphy’s 84-yard punt for Miami (Ohio) in 2013.

NIFTY FROM 50

Arizona State’s Zane Gonzalez not only kicked the season’s longest field goal (a school-record 59-yarder), but he also made kicks from 51 and 50 yards to tie an FBS record for field goals of 50 yards or longer in a game in a 40-16 loss to Colorado. Gonzalez, a senior who had never kicked a 50-yarder before this season, is 19 for 20 this season, with six longer than 50 yards.

TAKING CONTROL

Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey set the individual season high for plays in a game, running or passing a total of 77 times in the Orange’s 31-17 upset of Virginia Tech. Dungey threw 53 passes, completing 28 for 311 yards and 1 touchdown. He rushed 24 times for 106 yards and 1 touchdown.

DIVISION III STARS

Coast Guard’s Derek Victory and Curry’s Alex Corvese combined for 13 touchdown passes to tie the Division III single-game record. Victory passed for 525 yards and a school record-tying 6 touchdowns in Coast Guard’s 56-54 victory. Corvese threw for 519 yards and 7 touchdowns. Corvese was 42 of 63 but was unable to complete what would have been the tying 2-point pass late in the game.
