The Cedric Burnside Project will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at the White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $10.

A caravan of Mississippi blues musicians -- Robert Bilbo Walker, Leo Bud Welch, RL Boyce, Terry "Harmonica" Bean, Lightnin' Malcolm and Big A Sherrod -- will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $15.

Walker, who dresses like Liberace and plays guitar like Chuck Berry, divides his time between Mississippi and his adopted California. Welch, 83, has played guitar for close family and friends for more than 65 years, but made his living for 35 years logging in the north Mississippi hill country. He released his debut album, Sabougla Voices, in 2014, followed by I Don't Prefer No Blues in 2015.

Boyce, 60, began his musical career as a drummer in the local fife and drums bands of north Mississippi legends Otha Turner and Napolian Strickland. Inspired by his neighbors R.L. Burnside and Junior Kimbrough and later by Jessie Mae Hemphill, he plays on her Feelin' Good album. Bean, based in Pontotoc, Miss., has played with R.L. Burnside, Kimbrough, Big Jack Johnson, James "T-Model" Ford and Super Chickan.

Malcolm, a frequent performer in central Arkansas, won the Blues Music Award for "Best Debut Artist" in 2009 and has released the albums Renegade and Rough Out There. He has played with both Burnsides, Johnson, Ford, Hubert Sumlin, James Cotton, Honey Boy Edwards and Charlie Musselwhite. Sherrod, one of Mississippi's youngest bluesmen, plays guitar as well as bass, drums and keyboards.
