Hint 1: This is a man-made waterfall.

Hint 2: A veteran of the War of 1812 who owned a plantation here and was a leading figure in area politics is buried in this state park. Long before the park's creation in 1933, locals used the springs in these hills and hollows and gathered to camp and picnic under the trees of his homestead.

One of the park's campground latrines is listed by the National Register of Historic Places, as are three other park structures.
