Hot Springs police: Victim in Thursday shooting dies; charge upgraded

One of the five people who were shot Thursday night in Hot Springs died in a hospital overnight, police said. Because of the death, one of the suspected shooters now faces a murder charge.

Officer Joey WIlliams, a spokesman for Hot Springs police, said Tyler Donaldson, 23, died overnight Saturday at UAMS in Little Rock. He and four others were shot sometime around 6:50 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Lacey Street, as Arkansas Online previously reported.

Police have arrested one of the suspected shooters, Anthony James Camden, and are still searching for the other, Stephon Harris. Williams said that with the death of Donaldson, Harris’ charges were upgraded to one count of capital murder and four counts of battery.

Williams said it was unclear if Camden, 23, would also be charged with murder. As of 5:15 p.m. Sunday, jail records show Camden facing five counts of first-degree battery. He remains in jail on $250,000 bond.

A news release Sunday said investigators are following leads as they search for Harris, 20. Anyone who knows where he might be is asked to call Hot Springs police at (501) 321-6789.

The shooting also injured Cameron Guyton, 20; George Watson, 53; Skie Guyton, 19; and an unnamed 17-year-old boy.

In an earlier news release, police said all the victims and suspects knew each other and had been in a physical confrontation before the shooting.

Williams said more information would be released Monday morning.
