Tech men eighth at UNK Fall Invite

Freshman Ryan Spurlock of Maumelle finished in eighth place, helping lead Arkansas Tech to eighth place overall Tuesday at the Nebraska-Kearney Fall Invitational at Awarii Dunes in Axtell, Neb.

The host team won the team title over 19 others.

The Wonder Boys placed three players in the top 30, led by Spurlock's 1-over 145. Junior Putter Srinoon tied for 20th at 4 over, while senior Austin Smith of Russellville tied for 28th, a stroke back. Tech also counted Danville freshman Jay Trusty's 80 in its 10-over 298 on Tuesday, which placed him in a tie for 52nd, while senior Julio Arguelles slipped into a tie for 82nd.

Harding, led by senior Alex Williamson's tie for fifth place, placed 11th. Williamson shot an even-par 144. Junior Mason Banger tied for 31st (150), while junior Cameron Murry (155) and Juan Luis Sanchez (157) had top-70 finishes. Alan Anderson tied for 86th.

Henderson State finished 13th in the 20-team field. Junior Tait Derby led the Reddies with a 1-under 143 to finish fourth individually. Senior Price Murphree of Camden tied for 43rd after identical 4-over 76s. Sophomore Kevin Boutier tied for 68th (157), while seniors Drew Greenwood of Hot Springs (158) and Mauricio Lira (162) rounded out the Reddies.

Washburn senior Carson Roberts of Conway finished tied for second with a 2-under 142 to lead the Ichabods to a sixth-place tie. Connor Neil, a junior from Springdale, was tied for 38th, shooting a 7-over 151 for fourth-place Missouri Southern State.

ASU sixth in Mississippi

The Arkansas State men's golf team finished in a tie for sixth place at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate hosted by Southern Mississippi at the Hattiesburg (Miss.) Country Club.

ASU tied with Louisiana-Lafayette at 856. Andrew Huseman led the Red Wolves with a tie for sixth at 211. Teammate Joel Wendin (212) was tied for ninth.

UALR was 12th with a team score of 867. Noah Tullos led the Trojans after finishing in a tie for 22nd (215). Brady Edwards tied for 28th (216).

UCA was 13th, finishing at 874. Lewis George shot a career-low 217 and tied for 35th place. Louis Tomlinson (218) tied for 43rd and Luis Obiols (219) was in a tie for 48th.

ASU women sixth in Missouri

The Arkansas State women's golf team finished sixth at the Missouri State/Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield, Mo.

The Red Wolves shot a 923. Sarah Childers led the Red Wolves with a ninth-place finish (226). Beth Ann Compton (231) tied for 26th and Aracelly Jimenez Rios tied for 34th (233).

UALR was 10th with a 932. The Trojans were led by Hannah Ward, who shot a 231 and finished in a tie for 26th. Peyton Weaver (234) was tied for 38th.

UCA women eighth at Texas Tech

The Central Arkansas women's golf team finished eighth at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invitational at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.

Sophomore Emma Svensson tied for sixth overall, shooting a 220. Sophomore Cindy Oh tied for 10th and finished at 222, while junior Fernanda Lira was 52nd (236). Freshman YeJi Lim tied for 61st (240) and senior Brenda Gonzalez was 65th (242).

New Mexico State won the tournament with a team total of 880.

Arkansas Tech women tie for eighth

The Arkansas Tech women's golf team shot a 615 and tied for eighth place at the UIndy Invitational at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.

Caroline Fredensborg led the Golden Suns with a 152 and tied for 23rd. Avery Struck finished at 154. Holly Standing and Pia Nunbhakdi tied for 33rd at 155.

Gartmann leads Henderson State women

Luisa Gartmann shot a 152 and tied for ninth for Henderson State in the Northeastern State Classic in Tahlequah, Okla.

The Lady Reddies finished ninth overall in the tournament.

Taylor Loeb tied for 31st and Hanna Braubruger tied for 42nd.

UCA duo honored by Southland

Central Arkansas junior Stacia Carroll and sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Mercuri were honored by the Southland Conference on Tuesday.

Carroll won the conference's defensive player of the week award while Mercuri earned the goalkeeper of the week award.

Carroll and UCA allowed just one goal in 180 minutes last week against Kansas State and Missouri State.

Mercuri had shutouts against Arkansas State and Louisiana-Monroe.

Harding men pick up awards

Harding sophomore Justin Kucera was named the Great American Conference's defender of the week while sophomore Michael Wasson was the league's goalkeeper of the week.

Kucera and the Bisons shut out Union and Oklahoma Christian last week.

Wasson earned two victories against Union and Oklahoma Christian.

Harding goalkeeper earns award

Harding freshman Jessica Woessner earned the Great American Conference's goalkeeper of the week award Tuesday.

Woessner helped the Bisons win two games last week against Faulkner and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. She had four saves in Harding's 3-2 overtime victory over UAPB.
