Where I live: Hillcrest neighborhood of Little Rock with my husband, Daniel, and our Labradoodle, Ray
Occupation: Editor at Inviting Arkansas magazine
My favorite space is: Our backyard.
Why? My happiest space is easy to find — our very own backyard with my hands in the dirt and my dog by my side.
Our garden is a haven of beauty, grace and happiness. Over the years we’ve hosted an array of festivities — birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and old-fashioned barbecues — in this special space that’s truly a part of our home. Like all things beautiful, it’s truly a “work” of art. Daniel and I spend countless hours cultivating and tending the garden with great care.
It’s a reflection of our lives and changes with the seasons. We welcome perennial visitors — from cardinals to woodpeckers and the occasional turtle or toad. There’s a continuous flurry of activity from hummingbirds and butterflies throughout the summertime among the salvia, plumeria and columbine. The morning light casts a lovely shimmer across the yard and there’s always an unexpected delight to discover and behold.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would:
Host more fun and happy times — making memories!
