JENNIFER CHRISTMAN: There she is: New Miss America from Arkansas sat in my chair

We know Miss Arkansas Savvy Shields, a 21-year-old art major at the University of Arkansas, got a huge promotion to Miss America at last week's pageant.

But here are some things that you might not know about her, which we learned through investigative reporting (OK, cyber-stalking).

1. She's a healthy eater.

Not only was "Eat Better, Live Better" her Miss Arkansas platform, she really puts her cruciferous vegetables and Omega-3 fatty acid where her mouth is. She wrote to accompany a Facebook photo of a dinner plate with fish and greenery: "All time favorite dinner. Brussels sprouts and salmon for the win. Season them with pepper and paprika and you're good to go!"

She's also admittedly nutty for coconut oil: "For the love of eggs, this is my go-to breakfast: eggs, Ezekiel toast with coconut oil (psa: coconut oil will solve 99% of your problems), and fruit. Most important meal of the day, treat your body well."

Not cheese dip? Not barbecue? Not fried catfish? Can we really be sure Ms. Savvy is from Arkansas?

2. She's no tech geek.

At the end of her first Miss-America-required Facebook Live chat, she didn't quite understand how to close, saying: "I don't know how to turn this off," and laughing. "If anyone watching right now knows how to end Facebook Live, let me know." Savvy was initially not so Facebook savvy.

3. She's taken.

Sorry guys. Savvy has a boyfriend. She posted a photo of him on Instagram with the caption, "A special thank you needs to go to the greatest boyfriend in pageant history. He's the real deal." But as Miss America, she can't get engaged or married for a year, you have 350 and some days to woo her away from the unofficial reigning Mr. America.

4. She has curious cinematic tastes.

Posted said boyfriend on Instagram in a birthday greeting to her: "Happy Birthday to the only girl who claims Predator 3 as [her] favorite movie." But there is no such movie. Does that mean her favorite movie is 2010's Predators? Or Alien vs. Predator? Or Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem? Maybe he meant the pageanty Miss Congeniality 3? Oh, there wasn't one of those either? There should have been.

5. She found Smash smashing.

After performing a jazz dance to "They Just Keep Moving the Line," she was quoted by NJ.com as saying, "I love Smash, and it's playing in my car every second I get it." Too bad NBC didn't feel the same way. The show, which birthed two seasons and soundtracks, was canceled way back in 2013.

6. She's going to have to answer to her dad.

We all giggled (as did Savvy, who corrected herself) when she referred to presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as a "contestant" during the Q&A: "If you're trying to be leader of the free world, everything you say and do matters and all of your actions are held to a higher standard. Both of the contestants have done a good job, but they also need to watch what they're doing." We want to know did her father, Todd Shields, laugh? He is, after all, dean of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Science at the University of Arkansas and a political scientist.

7. She's rich.

Salary? In the six figures.

Scholarships? For winning Miss America, $50,000; for winning Miss Arkansas, $25,000.

Prizes (gifts from sponsors, wardrobe and grooming services, a modeling portfolio and an apartment in New York)? Tens of thousands of dollars.

Wearing a sash and crown to work every day? Priceless.

8. She knows me!

OK, well, not exactly. But she did sit in my chair at the radio station and use my microphone. Maybe I never actually met her. (I left because, well, she was sitting in my chair and using my microphone.) Still, I like to think that by sitting in my chair and using my microphone, she brushed up on the needed interview skills to secure the tiara.

Basically she won all because of me!
