A Craighead County substitute teacher admitted to having sex with a 13-year-old boy, police said.
In a report, Jonesboro police said Latasha Schoolfield, 31, of Caraway also told an investigator that she sent the boy nude photos. She faces four counts of rape and one charge of sexually grooming a child.
The report listed her occupation as a substitute teacher at the Riverside School District.
The boy told an Arkansas State Police investigator that he and Schoolfield had sex at a Motel 6 on Aug. 30, the report said. He also told the investigator that the two had sex “three to five” times in his bedroom at his house.
According to the report, the boy’s mother showed police a naked photo of Schoolfield that was sent to the boy as well as text messages the two exchanged.
When police interviewed Schoolfield, the report said, she admitted to having sex with the boy once at the Motel 6 and “several times” at his house. She also told police that she sent him three nude photos.
Schoolfield is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 31. Jail records indicate she was released from the Craighead County jail at 4:17 p.m. Friday.
