7A WEST

Bentonville at FAYETTEVILLE (12): These two have combined to win eight of the past nine state championships. Undefeated Fayetteville rallied to win at Texas private-school power Dallas Bishop Dunne 35-25 last week with Luke Waller returning a interception to score and seal victory in the final seconds. Hayden Moering nailed a 36-yard field goal with 1:56 to seal Bentonville’s 16-7 win at Conway last Friday. Balanced Bentonville rushed for 178 yards while QB Canaan Ross completed 16 of 23 passes for 185 yards.

Rogers Heritage at SPRINGDALE HIGH (10): Springdale improves to 3-1 for the first time since 2013. Last week the Bulldogs finished the first half with negative rushing yards and committed five turnovers in a 24-17 loss to Class 6A Russellville. Opponents outscore winless Heritage 29-14.

SPRINGDALE HAR-BER (17) at Rogers High: Rogers looks to start 4-0 for the first time since 2012 but this will be the Mounties toughest test thus far. Har-Ber led national power Jenks, Okla., at halftime last Friday and trailed just 30-22 with less than 8 minutes remaining before getting doubled 44-22. Har-Ber running back Logan Collins left the game with an ankle injury early. Rogers scored five TDs in just over 19 minutes last week to beat St. Louis Normandy 35-7.

VAN BUREN (7) at Bentonville West: Van Buren ended a nine-game losing streak, beating Class 6A Siloam Springs 25-18 last week. The Pointers trailed 18:10 with 10 minutes remaining but used its triple-option attack to drive for for two TDs and Miles Malone intercepted a Siloam pass to seal the victory. First-year program West trailed 28-0 early and was held to 6 yards offense in the first half last Friday, losing its first home game to Muskogee, Okla., 62-13. West QB Will Jarrett (injury) and top receiver Jadon Jackson did not play last week.

7A-CENTRAL

FS NORTHSIDE (7) at Bryant: Northside healthy after having last week’s game cancelled due to lightning. Bryant has rallied from behind to win two games this season, including last week’s 24-21 victory at Lake Hamilton. The Hornets trailed 21-0 at halftime.

Conway at FS SOUTHSIDE (7): Conway scored the biggest win in school history at Southside in 1993 to advance to the state title game. Last week Conway marched 94 yards in the fourth quarter for a potential go-ahead score but got no points from it in a 16-7 loss to Bentonville. A false start penalty at the goal line doomed the Wampus Cat drive. Bentonville blocked a punt to set up a TD and held Conway to 184 yards total offense, including no passing yard in the second half. Winless Conway hasn’t started 0-4 since 2008 when it lost its first five games.

Sheridan at SILOAM SPRINGS (2): Sheridan lost four turnovers in last week’s 34-7 loss to White Hall. The Yellowjackets have allowed 36 ppg the past two weeks. Siloam Springs gave up two fourth-quarter TDs in last week’s 25-18 loss at Van Buren.

6A-CENTRAL

Texarkana at GREENWOOD (23): Texarkana escaped Camden Fairview last week with a 28-20 victory. Senior defensive end Lawler Johnson sacked Fairview’s QB on fourth-and-14 at midfield to seal the win. Greenwood averaging 556 balanced yards and 41 ppg this season. The Bulldogs are 77-7 in conference games under Coach Rick Jones.

Vilonia at ALMA (14): Vilonia’s Bryce Garrison booted the clinching 42-yard field goal in last week’s four-point come-from-behind win at Booneville. Alma has lost two straight games (Springdale and Greenwood). The Airedales trailed Greenwood 21-0 at halftime of last week’s 35-12 setback.

FARMINGTON (17) at Clarksville: Farmington has won five of the past seven over Clarksville, including the past two seasons by a combined 68-14. Farmington failed to score on two red zone trips in last week’s 13-7 loss to Pea Ridge. Clarksville senior Diamante Polidore has 29 carries for 151 yards this fall.

GREENBRIER (10) at Maumelle: Maumelle continues getting better each week. Hornet senior Cory Jones ran for three TDs in last wek’s 35-18 win at Mills. Greenbrier struggled to an 11-point win Week 2 over Heber Springs and lost to Benton 37 points a week ago. Greenbrier juniors Spencer Sutterfield (30 tackles) and Grant Brown (28 stops) are the leading tacklers.

Harrison at MORRILTON (14): Harrison is the surprise team in Class 5A. The Goblins intercepted LR Christian twice in the final 3:15 last week for a 28-21 triumph. Goblin QB Noah Ditmanson ran for a pair of TDs. Morrilton has won two straight since losing to unbeaten Class 6A Russellville Week 1. Morrilton senior Grahm Heidenreich has 11 catches for 175 yards and two TDs this year, and he averages 28 yards per kickoff return.

Berryville at SHILOH CHRISTIAN (35): Berryville has never beaten Shiloh Christian. The Bobcats blasted Carroll County rival Green Forest 25-3 on Saturday. Undefeated Shiloh Christian averages 42 ppg. Senior Broc Berus ran 12 times for 148 yards and two TDs in last week’s 48-19 win over Pottsville, while senior QB Connor Reece completed seven of 13 passes for 174 yards and two TDs.

PEA RIDGE (24) at Gentry: Undefeated Pea Ridge started 3-0 for the second straight season and fourth time in five years. The Blackhawks committed three turnovers in the first half of last week’s 13-7 win at Farmington. Gentry beat Greenland by six points last week, the Pioneers’ first win in the series in more than 20 years.

GRAVETTE (21) at Lincoln: Lincoln rallied past winless Mansfield a week ago 26-17. Five Gravette receivers have TD receptions this year, including juniors Brady Moorman (15 catches, 101 yards and two TDs) and Austin O’Brien (nine catches, 73 yards and two TDs).

Huntsville at PRAIRIE GROVE (28): Undefeated Prairie Grove allows nine points per game. Senior QB Zeke Laird passed for 128 yards and two TDs in the first half of last week’s 53-0 blowout over West Fork. Huntsville senior J.D. Vaughn has 15 carries for 136 yards and two TDs this fall.

BOONEVILLE (3) at Pottsville: Booneville led Vilonia 20-12 in the third quarter last week before losing by four points in a weather-impacted game (delayed by lightening 95 minutes). Pottsville gave up more than 400 yards in last week’s 48-19 loss at Shiloh Christian.

DARDANELLE (21) at Dover: Undefeated Dover is 3-0 for the third straight season and fifth time since 1996. Dardanelle has won six straight in the series since Dover’s 23-6 triumph in 2009. The Sand Lizards outscored Dover 89-0 the past two seasons. Dardanelle senior Dakota Rowland has 54 carries for 410 yards and five TDs this fall. Senior lineman Caden Brown had 12 tackles in last week’s 38-0 over Clarksville.

SUBIACO ACADEMY (1) at West Fork: A battle of winless teams. West Fork dresses just 29 players and the Tigers have scored 14 points in 2016. Subiaco Academy has 31 players and has scored 28 points this year.

Waldron at OZARK (18): Waldron’s 13-point loss to Mena last week was its first of the year. Bulldog senior Tristan Brumbelow has rushed for 101 yards and one TD this fall, and caught five passes for 86 yards and one TD. Ozark sophomore QB Dawson Dietz completes 57 percent of his passes for 423 yards and five TDs. The Hillbillies forced a pair of turnovers in last week’s 23-point loss at Charleston in the Franklin County Feud.

CLINTON (4) at Greenland: Clinton lost at CAC 46-32 last week. The game was tied 32-32 in the fourth quarter. Senior RB Jake Ferrell ran for a TD and caught a TD pass. Greenland fell at Gentry 19-12.

Yellville-Summit at ELKINS (28): Elkins beats Y-S for the fourth straight season. The Elks average 364 yards and 44 ppg. All-league senior QB Jake Strode has completed 30 of 40 passes for 656 yards and six TDs with no interceptions.

Marshall at GREEN FOREST (6): Marshall lost at Quitman 22-6 last week. Senior RBs John Taylor and Jared Ramsey power the Bobcats. Green Forest searching for its first win of the year. Two of the Tigers’ six wins since 2014 have been over Marshall.

MOUNTAIN VIEW (2) at Melbourne: Mountain View all-league senior TB Chris Konkler ran 27 times for 164 yards in last week’s 38-8 win over Earle. Melbourne’s game at Salem was postponed with 4:08 left in the first quarter. Play resumed Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Salem intercepted three passes and won 27-20.

DANVILLE (42) at Western Yell County: Fourth-ranked Danville with one more hurdle in the 4-2A, a Week 7 game at No. 17 Hackett. Even worse news for the 4-2A: Danville starts six sophomores on offense and five on offense. The Little Johns destroyed Mountainburg 42-12 last week, piling up 458 yards in three quarters with all-state QB Jake Madding running for 241 yards and three TDs. Senior Chris Thurman ran for 124 yards and two TDs.

Decatur at MOUNTAINBURG (33): Mountainburg managed 185 yards last week in a 30-point loss to league favorite Danville. Mountainburg failed to score an offensive TD Week 2 at 4-2A contender Hackett, The Dragons travel to Lavaca next week in game that will likely determine playoff seeding.

HACKETT (28) at Magazine: No. 17 Hackett dumped Class 3A No. 47 Drew Central 42-6 last week. Senior QB Ely Stormes passed for 155 yards and three TDs, all to senior WR Robert Collins. Sophomores Brady Hester caught two passes for 74 yards. Sophomores Pacey McBride and Cooper Shipman combined for 117 rushing yards.

LAVACA (22) at J.C. Westside: No. 12 Lavaca plays host to Mountainburg next week with playoff seeding on the line.
