Hector (4-0, 1-0) won its first game in a new conference.
Hector quarterback Tanner Gaines threw for 115 yards on the team's first two scoring drives, completing one touchdown with a 13-yard throw to running back Brenden Landrum and scoring the other with a 4-yard keeper.
Cutter Morning Star pulled within 12-6 on Hayden Gray's 23-yard pass to Michael Kimpton, but Hector countered with Gaines to Jadon Graham for a 38-yard score. After a promising Cutter Morning Star drive stalled, Gaines ran 4 yards for a touchdown and a 34-13 halftime lead.
