No babe in woods of kids' recordings

Think this is the first time Amy Lee has tackled the rough and tumble world of children's music?

Think again.

That's her singing the sad "Sally's Song" on the 2008 collection Nightmare Revisited, an album of cover songs from the 1993 Disney animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas.

"That was kind of a grown-up recording," Lee says. True, and others on the album include the very adult-sounding Korn and Marilyn Manson. Still, it's from a beloved Disney animated movie, so we're calling it a kids' song, just maybe for slightly older kids.

And then there's Muppets: The Green Album from 2011, upon which Lee appears singing "Halfway Down the Stairs." The track, like Dream Too Much, was produced by her friend Will Hunt.

"I love that recording," she says. "That's a different style than [Dream Too Much]. The album is more folky. That track is what it would be like if I recorded a kids' electronic record. Maybe that will be the sequel."
