Two die in crashes in NW Arkansas

Crashes on Arkansas roads killed one man Friday and another Saturday, according to preliminary reports released by the Arkansas State Police.

A Kansas man died Saturday after the motorcycle he was riding struck a tree in Washington County, according to a state police report.

Chadd Lowderman, 33, of Ottawa, Kan., was driving west on Wheeler Road at 12:32 a.m. when he lost control of the 2007 motorcycle, it left the road and hit a tree, police said.

Lowderman was killed, according to the report.

A Friday crash in Madison County killed a 62-year-old man and injured a child, according a state police report.

Johnny Darrell Tittle of Elkins was driving a 1992 Honda west on Arkansas 16 at 12:50 p.m. Friday when the vehicle drifted off the right side of the road in a left curve at Madison County Road 3175, police said.

The Honda went into a ditch and overturned, causing Tittle and a passenger, a boy from Elkins, to be thrown from the vehicle, police said.

State police do not release the identities of minors involved in fatal traffic crashes.

The boy was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, according to the report, which did not include information about his condition.

The weather was clear and the roads were dry at the time of both crashes, police said.
