2 people robbed at gunpoint leaving Fayetteville restaurant, police say

Two people were robbed at gunpoint Sunday while leaving a restaurant, according to Fayetteville police.

The victims were leaving about 9:57 p.m. from Formosa Chinese Restaurant at 1998 N. College Ave. when two subjects dressed in all black assaulted them, according to a news release.

One of the victims resisted the robbery and was struck in the face with a handgun, the release said. The gun discharged, but the victim wasn't injured.

The robbers fled into the wooded area east of the restaurant with one of the victim's bags, but police were unable to find them, the release said. It's unclear what what was stolen.
