Police: Little Rock woman says friend punched her, then stole her car

A Little Rock woman says her car was stolen by a friend after he took her keys and forced her out of the vehicle Sunday evening, according to the Little Rock Police Department.

Nedra Fields, 31, told officers that she was driving north on Shackleford Road around 11:05 p.m. when Gary Johnson, a passenger in the car, became angry and instructed her to pull over, police said.

According to Fields, Johnson grabbed her keys and told her to get out of the Chevy Impala, police said. Fields told officers that when she attempted to get her keys back from Johnson, he repeatedly punched her in the face and then got into the car and drove away, according to a police report.

Police said in the report that Fields had a busted upper lip and did not want medical attention.

Police located Johnson, a 30-year-old Little Rock man, and the car at a gas station in Little Rock around 1:20 a.m. Monday and took him into custody, according to the report.

He was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster as of noon Monday.
