Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas

1 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. -- Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas will host its annual "Golftoberfest" miniature golf tournament at Gator Golf in Fayetteville. The tournament will feature a shotgun start for morning and afternoon flights, hole-in-one prizes and goody bags, T-shirts and lunch for participants. Saving Grace NWA Polo Club

1 and 2 11 a.m-4 p.m. -- The Northwest Arkansas Polo Club presents the inaugural "Chix with Stix" benefit for Saving Grace at the Benton County Fairgrounds. Professional and amateur female polo players from across the United States will compete for arena polo honors from the Women's Championship Tournament and the United States Polo Association. An Evening at the Farm

Apple Seeds

1 4:30 -- Apple Seeds Teaching Farm will host the third annual "An Evening at the Farm" at the farm, 1699 Hillcrest Ave. in Fayetteville. A shuttle at 4:30 p.m. on the day of the event will take event visitors to the new teaching farm location at Gulley Park before returning to Apple Seeds farm for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The luncheon will include the crowning of the "Biggest BigWig." BigWigs are corporate and community leaders who have committed to raising or donating at least $1,000. 21-22 6 p.m. -- The 25th annual Tom Pagnozzi "Ultimate Tailgate," along with an auction and golf tournament, will take place at the Fayetteville Town Center and Springdale Country Club, respectively. The Ultimate Tailgate will be held Oct. 22 and will include drinks, food and live and silent auctions.

Event proceeds will benefit the Pagnozzi Charities Youth Sports Scholarship Program. The program grants sports scholarships to underprivileged children in kindergarten through eighth grades in Northwest Arkansas. Participation in sports at a young age has been proven to increase self-esteem, improve grades in school and keep kids off drugs, charity officials tout. 29 8 a.m. -- The Washington County Meals on Wheels Program will begin its second annual "Pedal Poker Run" with a pancake breakfast at the Springdale Senior Center. Each hand costs $20 in advance or $25 per hand on the day of the event. The "run" is a 7-mile bike ride along the Razorback Regional Greenway. First place pays $500; second, $250; third, $100; and the worst hand wins $50.
