High school football report: Extra points

North Little Rock travels to Conway on Friday night for its first road game of the season. North Little Rock (4-0, 1-0 7A-Central) has defeated Maumelle, Little Rock McClellan, Little Rock Parkview and Little Rock Central this season and is No. 3 in this week’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s Overall Top 10 and Class 7A Super Six. The Charging Wildcats and Wampus Cats have not played each other since 2011, when the Wampus Cats won 20-17 in a 7A/6ACentral Conference game. … West Memphis running back Devontae Dean has rushed for 268 yards and 5 touchdowns on 64 carries this season as the Blue Devils have raced out to a 3-1 record. The Blue Devils defeated rival Marion 22-10 on Friday in the teams’ 6A-East Conference opener. … Sylvan Hills senior quarterback Jordan Washington has been one of the state’s top allpurpose players this season. Washington has accounted for more than 1,200 yards offensively. He’s completed 53 of 97 passes for 815 yards with 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and has rushed for 451 yards and 8 touchdowns on 69 carries. … Cross County and Clarendon were originally scheduled to be off this week, but both teams will play a nonconference game Friday at Clarendon. Cross County is 3-1 overall, 1-0 in the 3-2A while Clarendon is 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the 6-2A. … The 5-2A Conference may be the most top-heavy conference in the state through four weeks. The top four teams in the 5-2A are 4-0 with 1-0 conference records — Conway Christian, England, Hector and Quitman. Two 5-2A teams are in this week’s Class 2A Super Six, with England No. 1 and Hector at No. 3.
