The Rodney Block Collective will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at South on Main in Little Rock. Tickets are $15.

The show, which will feature the music of the 1980s versus the 1990s, is a birthday celebration for Block and for Amy Kelley Bell, owner of the club.

Chris Milam will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $10.

Milam, a Memphis singer-songwriter compared to Paul Simon by American Songwriter magazine, is touring to support a new album, Kids These Days, which he released Friday. Milam has bounced back from events in his life three years ago, which included the end of an engagement and his subsequent move, with all his possessions in his car, which was stolen from a gig in Jackson, Miss. He never recovered it or his guitar or anything else.

His previous albums include Up, Young Avenue, Never in Love, Leaving Tennessee and an EP, Tin Angel.

He cites as his influences Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Andre 3000 of Outkast, Emmylou Harris and Rick Rubin.
