FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested a man Thursday night on suspicion of threatening a couple at gunpoint, demanding $100 and injuring one person's hand, according to police.

Wiley G. Lee Jr., 61, of 3134 N. Bellagio Drive faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery, battery and two counts of aggravated assault.

A woman was treated and released at Washington Regional Medical Center for a puncture wound to her hand, according to police. Spokesman Sgt. Craig Stout said the woman and Lee knew each other.

The woman said Lee pointed a gun at her and her husband and threatened to shoot them, according to the report. Police found a Taurus .380 magazine clip with five rounds loaded near where the woman said she was assaulted, according to the report.

Police haven't released the names of the victims. The case is under investigation, Stout said.

Several people called police about a man with a handgun holding a woman "hostage" at 8:21 p.m. Thursday outside University Apartments at 554 S. Buchanan Drive. The man demanded $100 from the woman and told her not to call police, according to a police report.

Witnesses told police the man was driving a Ford F-150 pickup, police said.

Police stopped a pickup near West Center Street and South Duncan Avenue and allowed the driver to leave, the report shows. The pickup was registered to Lee.

He was arrested several hours later at his home. He was wearing a shirt with "possible blood stains on the left and right cuffs," according to the report.

Lee was at the Washington County Detention Center with no bond Friday.
